Covington, Ind. - Robert L. Kieran, 62, of Covington, a former Danville resident, was dead on arrival yesterday (May 1, 1969) at St. Elizabeth Hospital after being stricken ill in Danville. He had been in ill health. Born March 28, 1907, in Danville he was a son of William H. and Mary Moroney Kieran. He was married Oct. 30, 1937, in Dana, Ind., to Ruth McMahon, who preceded him in death Aug. 17, 1968. Surviving are a son, William J. Kieran of Springfield, Va.; two brothers, Raymond of Los Angeles, Calif., and William A. of Birmingham, Ala., and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Boink and Mrs. Genevieve Young, both Danville. He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and a brother. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Services will be at 10 am EDT Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington. The Rev. Donald Vernon will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home after 7 pm Saturday and Sunday. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 pm Sunday.
